Some of the things you can expect to see over the next few weeks and months are...

Head Boy and Girl tea partiesPupil interviewsCharity fundraising eventsParliament weekMP visitTrip to ParliamentTrip to the Town CouncilSchool Council assemblies Keep your eyes peeled for updates....

Operation Christmas Child

The School Council would like to thank everyone who was able to kindly create a box or donate items.  We were met by members of the Worcestershire branch of OCC, who thanked the school for donating once again.

Poppy Appeal

Once again, for the week leading up to Remembrance Day, members of the School Council, were raising funds for the Poppy Appeal.  We sold, pencils, rulers, snap bands, bracelets and of course poppies. As soon as the total has been checked, we'll let you know how much has been raised.

Harvest Assembly

For our school's Harvest festival, members of the School Council (alongside members of the School Choir) led a Harvest assembly, featuring all of the kind donations that had been received. It was a wonderful, very thought provoking assembly.  The donations will be sent to Caring Hands, a food-bank in town.

Parental Consultations

Once again, members of the School Council assisted parents and carers at the parental consultation evenings.  Many parents are familiar with the school, but it was really useful to help those parents who maybe don't know their way around the inside of the school! We were extremely polite and had lots of positive feedback form the people we helped.
We'll be back in February for the second round of parents' evenings...

Macmillan Coffee Morning

The School Council were very proud to assist with Swan Lane's Macmillan coffee morning.   Mrs Manion and Mrs Whitehouse had organised many delicious cakes, some baked by staff and some baked by parents, to sell at the event to raise money for Macmillan cancer support. The School Council ran stalls, served drinks and cakes and assisted the staff  to provide a lovely experience.  Alongside the cakes and coffee were games and raffles, all of which were very entertaining and helped raise lots of money.  It is yet to be all counted, but keep your eyes peeled for the grand amount!

Harvest Donations

As you may already be aware, this year, the School Council have again been tasked with organising a Harvest festival within school. To help us celebrate Harvest this year, we are kindly asking for your donations of food that we can display during our assembly.Once the assembly is over, we will send all of the food to the food bank to ‘Caring Hands in the Vale’, so that people in the local community can benefit from your generosity.
Some suggested items include: ‘meals in a tin’ (ravioli, meatballs etc), UHT milk, instant mash, pasta sauces, tinned vegetables, jars of coffee, tinned spaghetti, rice, packet noodles, tinned meat, tinned fruit, crackers, sugar and cup-a-soups.
We kindly ask that any food that you donate is either tinned, in jars, in a packet or similar wrapping and has a good shelf life. All donations need to be made by Wednesday 23rd October.
We thank you for your generosity and support.
